What we were missing wasn’t the information. It was a way to put it in front of people that they would actually use.

Frequently asked questions

Have another question? Contact us at contact@civicinformer.com or fill out the form to get started.

Who decides what becomes public?

Your agency sets the release rules for its public site. We apply those rules, prepare a private preview, and publish only after your team approves the launch.

How are incident locations protected?

Public maps show incidents at the block level rather than at an exact address. Protected events can be generalized further to the neighborhood, according to your release rules.

How are sensitive calls handled?

Your release policy determines which calls are withheld and which can appear in a generalized form. A protected event can show only the neighborhood, with a randomized pin and sensitive details removed. Excluded calls do not appear.

Will our agency be scored or graded?

No. Activity counts are not a grade for your agency or a measure of neighborhood safety. Reports put activity in context using the community’s own history, with sources and definitions explained.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing reflects the products, records, service area, and support your agency needs. We discuss those needs in the walkthrough, review the records, and provide a written proposal with scope and pricing.

Can we see it with our own records before launch?

Yes. Once we agree on scope and record access, we prepare a private preview using your agency’s records. Your team reviews the results and release rules before approving launch.
