Daily Report

The Daily Report is Civic Informer's dated summary of public-safety records for a community with a supported edition.

The Daily Report is Civic Informer's dated summary of public-safety records for a community with a supported edition. It presents source-derived counts and plain-language context under published inclusion and privacy rules. It is a publication about a defined period, not a complete incident register or a real-time statement of current conditions.

Read the covered date

The edition guide describes the report as one component of an edition. The methodology explains exclusions, generalized locations, late records, and source-status information. These rules affect what appears in the report and what a reader can infer from an absence.

The date an edition publishes a report can differ from the day its records describe. Source verification and agency update times provide additional context. A recent publication date does not automatically make every underlying event or record equally recent.

Example

Hypothetical example: A Monday publication summarizes Sunday records. One agency source has not updated, and the report includes a source-status note while presenting the available information.

The Monday publication date does not make the source complete through Monday morning. The note also means a low available count should not be described as proof that Sunday had little activity. Publication and source coverage are separate facts.

Common confusion

The Daily Report summarizes records on the web. The Morning Email delivers an edition's summary by email. The Activity Map presents selected location-based records. Their formats differ even when they draw on related information.

Calls, incident reports, arrests, and fire/EMS responses are separate counting units and should not be added as one crime total.

Source limits

Read the covered period, record labels, exclusions, source links, and late-record explanations. The report does not establish guilt, a diagnosis, or every event in the community. Changes in later source records can affect how a recent day's activity is understood.
