Over the past 30 days (May 3 – Jun 1, 2026), San Francisco reported 3,152 incidents, -12% fewer than the prior month. Administrative was the most common incident type, with 1,270 reports accounting for 40% of the total.

Of 3,152 incidents, 640 involved violent crimes (20% of total, 6% higher than the prior month). Officers made 1,354 arrests, and 43% of incidents led to an arrest. Of those, 213 were for violent offenses.

Incidents were reported across 41 San Francisco neighborhoods. Tenderloin had the highest activity, with 545 incidents (17% of total), followed by Mission with 524 incidents, and South of Market with 472 incidents.

The top 3 neighborhoods accounted for 49% of all incidents. Castro/Upper Market saw the largest decline, with 55 incidents compared to 86 the prior month (-36%). 311 blocks reported more than one incident.

San Francisco reported incidents across 16 categories. Administrative led with 1,270 incidents, representing 40% of the total, followed by Drugs & Alcohol with 531 incidents, and Assault & Violence with 504 incidents.

Theft & Larceny dropped 33%, with 437 incidents compared to 652 the prior month. Overall, 4 categories are trending up, and 10 are trending down.

Week 1 (May 3 – May 11) was the busiest with 889 incidents; the quietest was Week 4 at 709 — a spread of 180.

Incident volume fell for 3 consecutive weeks. The biggest single-week swing came in Week 2, with -99 incidents (-11%) compared to the week before. Weekdays averaged 110 incidents per day, while weekends averaged 95 — 16% higher on weekdays.
