Monmouth Oregon launches Civic Informer, a new public safety utility for residents

The Monmouth Police Department has partnered with Civic Informer to launch a new public resource for following police activity in Monmouth, Oregon. Residents, students, and businesses can now view weekly reports of Monmouth Police Department activity, explore where the department responds, and subscribe to a free weekly email delivered every Monday.

What is Civic Informer?

Civic Informer is a public safety information platform that partners with police departments and other public safety agencies to make public records accessible and easy to follow. For Monmouth, Civic Informer publishes event data provided by the Monmouth Police Department as a weekly report, an interactive map, and a Monday email. Each report also shows how events started: through 911, by phone, or by officers in the field. Civic Informer is an additional resource for the community. It does not replace the Monmouth Police Department's existing communication channels, emergency notifications, or public records processes.

How to use Civic Informer Monmouth

The site is available at civicinformer.com/monmouth. From there, residents can:

  • Read the weekly report, published every Monday, which summarizes the previous seven days of Monmouth Police Department events and compares them to the week before.
  • Review how events started, with each report showing how many came through 911, came in by phone, or were initiated by officers.
  • Use the interactive map to see where the Monmouth Police Department responds. Locations are generalized to the block or nearest intersection, never an exact address.
  • Review past reports to follow trends in Monmouth over time.

Get the Monmouth weekly report by email

The Monmouth weekly email delivers a summary of each published report directly to subscribers' inboxes every Monday, with links back to Civic Informer for the full report, the map, and details on individual events. The email is free, and subscribers can stay informed without needing to check the site each week.

About the partnership

The Monmouth Police Department and Civic Informer are working together to give the community a clear, consistent view of public safety activity in Monmouth.

“We’re always looking for ways to provide our community with useful information and make it easier for people to understand what is happening in Monmouth. Civic Informer gives residents a simple way to view general information about calls for service, while also giving us another way to share timely information with our community. It’s another tool that helps us stay connected and make information more accessible.”

— Isaiah Haines, Chief of Police, Monmouth Police Department

Civic Informer provides the technology and publishing infrastructure behind the Monmouth site. The Monmouth Police Department remains the authoritative source for official department information and records. Information about an event can change as it develops. For official case information, emergency information, or public records, continue to use the Monmouth Police Department's and the City of Monmouth's official channels. In an emergency, always call 911.
