Yesterday was busy for BPD. Forty-one incidents, four of them violent, including a robbery arrest downtown and a felony assault report on Central Ave. Eight people were arrested across the day, with the majority of activity concentrated in the late afternoon and evening hours along Cornwall Ave and the surrounding blocks.

Three traffic collisions in a single day is the standout category, matching the total over the previous seven days in just a single day. What isn't in today's categories also tells a story; theft, which after its recent surges is now settling down and is currently 41% lower week-over-week.

At 9:07 PM, a 31-year-old was arrested for burglary and theft on the 1800 Block of Cornwall Ave, then hit with an outstanding warrant 14 minutes later at the same location - their 8th arrest in the last year. Downtown also saw a 25-year-old arrested for robbery on E Magnolia St and a 29-year-old arrested for auto theft and DUI on Commercial St.
