Yesterday logged 38 incidents, the most Bellingham has seen this week. In a unique case, several units from BPD and BFD responded to an incident that closed I5 North yesterday afternoon, stating "BPD and BFD responded to a person in crisis near I5 and Sunset. Out of an abundance of caution, we made the decision to close the bridge deck and both lanes of I5. The situation resolved itself peacefully and the individual is receiving the assistance needed."

Other non-criminal led the day by nearly double, mostly agency assists and information reports. Behavioral health followed with 6 incidents spread across five neighborhoods, on-par with the 25/ week that category has held for the last two weeks.

Three of yesterday's six arrests were repeat offenders. One individual, a 57-year-old in Samish, picked up two charges at the same address within four hours. Furthermore, a 39-year-old arrested on Thursday was again arrested on Friday, this time for malicious mischief related to a domestic altercation.
